Terms & Conditions

International Shiloh Shepherd Dog Club, Inc. – Rescue and Rehome (ISSDC) has been established to provide rescue and care for Shiloh Shepherds who have been given up due to family circumstances, neglect or abuse, or have been abandoned by their previous owner. Adopting families or individuals hereby agree to our purpose of providing safe, secure, affectionate, and healthy environments for these Shilohs, and specifically agree to the following:

  1. The adopter is at least 21 years of age.
  2. No member of the adopting family has been charged with cruelty to animals.
  3. The Shilohs will be kept solely as a house pet and will never be used for breeding, fighting or experimentation.
  4. The Shilohs will never be given, leased or sold to any person, laboratory, or business.
  5. If the adopter wishes to relinquish custody of said dog, they agree to notify ISSDC and/or its rescue representatives immediately.
  6. The adopter will provide sufficient food, water, shelter outside and inside, and veterinary care.
  7. The Shiloh will be spayed/neutered at the time of adoption, except for unique circumstances such as under 6 months of age. If the puppy is under 6 months of age and unaltered, the adopter(s) agree to have the Shiloh spayed or neutered by 8 months of age and will provide ISSDC with a copy of the spay/neuter certificate within 30 days of surgery.
  8. The adopter(s) will provide a properly fenced yard and/or walk said Shiloh several times daily. Invisible/electric fencing and tethering/tie-outs are NOT considered adequate protection or restraint.
  9. The adopter(s) will maintain a current dog license as required by local law.
  10. The adopter(s) will assure that the Shiloh is inoculated against disease, especially rabies.
  11. The adopter(s) will assure that the Shiloh will always carry, at a minimum, identification tags, and/or microchip or tattoo identification.
  12. Adopter(s) are encouraged to exercise caution in introducing an adoptive Shiloh into new situations until it has become adjusted to it new environment and family. It is strongly recommended that ALL interaction between Shilohs and children be monitored by an adult at all times.
  13. The adopter(s) will take their Shiloh to a basic form of dog training as a refresher. It helps establish close rapport and bonding between the adopter(s) and the Shiloh.
  14. While every reasonable effort is made to address the Shiloh’s immediate medical issues and to know its personality prior to placement, ISSDC and it rescue representatives can make no warranties regarding the temperament, behavior, or physical condition of any adoptive Shiloh, nor do they guarantee it to be free of genetic defects. The adopter(s) agrees to hold harmless and indemnify the ISSDC and its rescue representatives.
  15. Special Adoption Conditions: (to be noted at time of adoption if applicable).

I have read and understand the ISSDC Adoption Contract and agree to the conditions set forth. I, the adopter(s), fully understand and agree to assume all risks involved in the adoption of a Shiloh from ISSDC.

I agree to hold ISSDC harmless and not responsible for any injury(s) that I might sustain resulting from the adoption. This waiver includes the above understanding for myself, all of my family members and the descendant of such forever from seeking any legal action whatsoever against ISSDC or its representatives.
